seterf.org The Southeast Texas Emergency Relief Fund (SETERF) is a special trust founded on August 31, 2005 by Regina Rogers and Joe Penland. Its main objective is to provide relief to individuals and families in need or affected by a natural disaster and/or other emergency situation.

SETERF was first funded to help victims of Hurricane Katrina and has been in operation ever since, providing aid to families affected by Hurricanes Rita and Ike, the Sabine River flooding victims, and, most recently, those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The fund is specifically designed for those individuals and families residing, either permanently or temporarily, in Southeast Texas.

Since 2005, the Board of Trustees has grown to include seventeen leaders from the Southeast Texas Community. Monies from the SETERF may be used to provide victims with food, clothing, lodging, transportation, medical and dental services and/or meet any legitimate need resulting from a natural disaster or emergency that these families or individuals do not have the ability to meet themselves.
